Oh the dryer gods they laugh at me Each load's a mystery can't you see One sock here one sock's gone away Where they vanish Who’s to say I swear I heard the dryer talk It gobbled up my polka-dot sock Left me with one from my old gym shoe What’s a girl s'posed to do Where do they go when the wash is done Every load a missing one Sock conspiracy It’s true No pair in sight No more blue Maybe there's a portal there To sock land far or maybe near A place where left ones find their right A cozy home out of our sight The lint screen’s just a sneaky clue For all the socks that bid adieu Follow the fluff it might reveal What the dryer tries to conceal Where do they go when the wash is done Every load a missing one Sock conspiracy It’s true No pair in sight No more blue
