Working on my deck Sanding off some stuff Making sure my nails Damn, I got enough Two hundred fifty seven Thousand nine hundred twenty-one That should get me ‘Til the deck is done I started hammering away Making sure they’re all well placed Soon realized a board Was shinier than it should be That was when I realized I’d made a board mostly metal Over one thousand nails went in To the plank, what the devil [instrumental] Now my dear old dad, he always Thought I did too much You only needed ten nails For a board length such and such But damn, I wasn’t gonna let The old coot win at all So I made sure to hammer in Six thousand nails in the rail He asked me what the hell And tried to pry them out But come the third nail in He went in the house Then asked me why on Earth I had so many nails in my wall Told him I got bored one day Nailed Da Vinci in my hall [instrumental] So here I am At the hardware store Buying a hundy thou’ more nails To continue my deck some more Don’t know how the hell I burned Through all those nails But now my deck’s so shiny And there are spikes along the rails So if you’re ever in my burb And you want to see my art Avoid the bear traps, holes, and spikes You might make it to my car [instrumental to end]
