union (for pam) i knew before i dared to speak the name desire to the bone was now awake in memory connecting heart and flame where pillars of the world begin to shake each glance undid the boundaries i kept each touch demanded unrestrained assent and all the places love had prior slept were forced to open where the fire went 'twas clear to see all that this hunger bade my will dissolving in the rushing tide the path ahead would touch both light and shade make plain all of the passions held inside though what burns hottest cannot always live consuming all that time cannot forgive some hunger must be honored in the flood some storms must full be echoed in the blood but if one can prove steady through the trial let thunder calm and gentler spark endure then love may last more than a little while uncertain ground may prove to be more sure if ache into devotion may yet turn and heat may into radiance yet grow then fire becomes a warmth that does not burn and flame transforms to constant steady glow as rush of passion settles into love preparing space where all true union starts let grace descend from Heaven up above and come to rest in our united hearts the earthquake that reshaped our holy ground has settled into quiet landscapes crowned by simpler joys, and if we shall but dare our gain is now this life that we may share rjh 7may2026
