But now comes a warning that we must take seriously. If someone receives the knowledge of the truth and then deliberately continues in sin, rejecting what they have learned, there is no other sacrifice waiting to take the place of Yahushua's offering. There is no second sacrifice that can replace the one he has already made. What remains for those who reject that truth is the terrifying expectation of judgment. Scripture describes a fiery judgment that will consume those who stand against Elohim. Remember the seriousness of the Torah given through Moses. A person who rejected that Law could be put to death without mercy when the testimony of two or three witnesses established the offense. Now consider an even more serious question. What judgment would be deserved by someone who knowingly tramples upon the Son of Elohim? Someone who treats the blood of the covenant, the very blood through which they were made holy, as though it were worthless or unclean? Someone who insults the Ruach Hakodesh, the Spirit of grace? The warning is unmistakable. Knowing the truth brings responsibility, and deliberately rejecting what Elohim has provided is no small matter. Because Yahuah has already declared that vengeance belongs to him. He will repay what is deserved. And Scripture also says that Yahuah will judge his own people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living Elohim. But after giving this warning, the writer reminds the believers of something important. Remember the days when you first received the light of truth. Think about everything you endured after coming to understand the message. You went through a great struggle filled with suffering. Sometimes people publicly insulted you and treated you cruelly. You became a spectacle before others, exposed to shame and persecution. And at other times, you stood beside brothers and sisters who were suffering in those same ways. You showed compassion to those who were imprisoned. And when people took away your possessions, you accepted the loss with joy. Not because losing everything was easy. But because you knew you had something far greater waiting for you. You understood that a better and lasting inheritance was yours. So do not throw away the confidence you had in those days. That confidence carries a great reward. You need patience and endurance. Keep doing the will of Elohim so that you may receive what he has promised. Because Scripture gives us this assurance. The One who is coming will come. He will not delay beyond his appointed time. And the righteous will live by faith. But Yahuah takes no pleasure in the one who turns away from him. So here is where we stand. We are not among those who turn back and bring destruction upon themselves. We are among those who continue believing. We hold firmly to our faith, trusting Elohim for the salvation of our souls.
