The Roman Nightmare – Part II: The Betrayal of Galba

[Intro] They came with words, not swords in hand A promise made upon our land [Verse 1] Galba spoke of peace and grain Of fertile fields and end to pain We laid down arms, we bowed our heads But Roman peace was forged in dread [Pre-Chorus] They split us into lines of three And slaughtered hope beneath the trees [Chorus] Ohh... The Betrayal of Galba burns In every grave, the memory turns Uhh... The hills still echo every scream The Roman nightmare kills the dream [Verse 2] They bound the young, they sold the old They turned our trust to chains and gold But one escaped the blood-soaked sand A shepherd rose to lead the land [Pre-Chorus] He saw the fire, he felt the flame And vowed to curse the Roman name [Chorus] Ohh... The Betrayal of Galba burns In every grave, the memory turns Uhh... The hills still echo every scream The Roman nightmare kills the dream [Verse 3] We trusted Rome, we paid in blood They broke the pact, they loosed the flood But from the ash, a vow was sworn To raise the blade where oaths were torn [Pre-Chorus] The hills remember every name And Galba’s lies ignite the flame [Chorus] Ohh... The Betrayal of Galba burns In every grave, the memory turns Uhh... The hills still echo every scream The Roman nightmare kills the dream [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] They came with peace, they came with lies They left with blood beneath the skies But one survived, and one will rise The nightmare walks, and never dies [Call-out:] Viriathus lives – and Rome shall fall [Chorus] Ohh... The Betrayal of Galba burns In every grave, the memory turns Uhh... The hills still echo every scream The Roman nightmare kills the dream [Outro] And still the hills remember names Song Title: The Roman Nightmare – Part II: The Betrayal of Galba Artist: HardRockChild Created with assistance from Microsoft Copilot © 2025 HardRockChild
