[Intro – warped tape hiss, distorted laughter buried under static] Nothing feels familiar today...I can't shake the vibe...tough to explain. Faces seem fake in a way...maybe my ass is trippin' but sus I remain. [Verse 1 – dusty boom-bap, minimal drums, off-kilter piano loop] My dad woke me up devoid of style, eyes dead like he hadn't slept in a while. And he had a sad excuse for a smile sorta like confusion got stuck in denial. Mom called to me..."Time to eat"...her eyes drifting apart as I took my seat. Usually her breakfast can't be beat but today it was foul and reeked of rotted meat... Mom, Dad, my sister, and even caught our neighbors staring too... All with dead eyes and their skin was even a slightly different hue. Suddenly everyone stood in sync and I just sat there not sure what to think. I still haven't seen anyone even blink, nobody ate, or took a single drink. Just looked right through me like I wasn't even there. They aren't them I swear I can tell by their cold blank stare. Mom pulled me in close but her grip was slimy and gross... But she didn’t look at me when she spoke...more sputters or a croak... Saw some purple goop droop from her lip...BlOoP...tighter and tighter she bolsters her grip... In a panic I struggle as my shirt begins to rip thrashing violently feeling within my skin something...someone or my mind start to slip... Every blink she made was delayed by the other this creature is no longer my mother... Like an actor trying to recite a brand new script. My father forgot how to bark out orders and copied mom...my throat He gripped... So he plays back silence like he already knows...this virus in me flows... I finally figured it out I s'pose...as my common sense slows I whisper...Dittos... Same word I keep repeating...Ditto...Ditto...feeling what makes me myself depleting....Ditto... Same word mixed with laughter...Ditto...smile starts to split my face sanity is fleeting. And my Mr.Mime popped the ball but was quick to fall and rose like the crowd. Just stares at corners of a cage that isn't there but seems so proud. Like it’s waiting for something to open or bend. Like the world is a program not just some fantasy he can pretend to defend. [Hook – distorted choir, layered whispers slightly out of sync] Don’t trust the way they repeat their name. Don’t trust the way they don’t feel the same. If love comes back with an imperfect face. It’s been compromised and replaced. Everybody smiles the same. Every Ditto defiles the brain. [Verse 2 – beat becomes heavier, slightly off] I tried to record them while they slept, feeling the Ditto in me as it slowly crept. But the footage came back as me recording me as I loudly wept. Me standing there, just watching me Watching them, watching me quietly The camera doesn’t glitch—it corrects reality fixing my confusion defiantly... Every time I notice, something adjusts Like the world is allergic to my distrust, yet glorifies my disgust. I asked my friend what we did last week, only lavender sludge came out when I tried to speak. He answered instantly—too clean, too sleek, he too spoke in goop how unique. Then paused mid-sentence like he forgot pain, no need with a Ditto brain. And smiled again in the same exact frame, and more Ditto we both became. I found old photos where my face seems wrong Not different, just slightly too long. Like I was edited after the fact Like I was added, and never put back, then the photo turned black. [Bridge] I stopped sleeping… Because I started waking up wrong Same room…wrong room...confusion consumes....Ditto's room... Different version looms it's me...not me...thunder booms... [Verse 3 – final descent, fragmented flow] A laugh that lands a half-second late A memory that isn't home in your head left to contaminate... Then one day your hands feel foreign...many more Ditto now pour in... Oh they’re not yours, just explorin'...next you can't decide if the flesh your wearin' is even your skin....Ditto now wears you from within... “What if I’ll be empty too...just like you...ugh..." felt a wet impact and my body contracted... I screamed once—no one reacted—looking at me still they look distracted. Unable to look surprised, just mindless menaces with familiar faces they wore. Like absolute terror was something they saw before in the minds they explore. Like a Metapod caught within a Muk I'm stuck... And then I realize I'm...fucked...out of luck... They aren’t pretending… they misinterpret what it takes to be me... ...Ditto synthesizes every cell with parasitic gluttony... [Final Hook – everything collapsing, voices layered incorrectly] Everybody smiles the same… (same… same… same…) Even I forgot my name… (your name… my name…Ditto brain...) But I can’t tell if I’m the mistake… Or the only one Ditto left awake… ...probably just another Ditto fake... ...Everybody smiles the same… ...Every Ditto smiles the same… ...Ditto...Ditto...Ditto...heh heh heh... ...Ditto...—...is me...
