04 - The Eternal Crown
The palace looms with gilded form beneath the desert sky, Its door bars his ingress, the guards won't let him by. So Khensu speaks his subtle spells, the winds obey his will, A cutting word, a flash of light—the guards grow deathly still. A court of velvet and gold stands before Khensu's sight, Their tongues, their glares, are fraught with hidden spite. Khensu approaches with storm in hand, his voice hints power unknown. The air grew thick with magick's weight, his gaze upon the throne. “Come forth, O king, your time has passed— By blood and spell, the die is cast.” With crown alight and sword in hand, The king stood firm to take his stand. "What gives you the right to stand before me? What hubris do you possess to challenge a Deity?" Khensu scoffs at the royal words, sporting a wicked grin, “Mubāraza!” he called aloud, the court grew silent within. Eight paces, the clash began— Magick fought against mortal man. The king’s blade blazed with fire’s grace, But Khensu's words did halt its pace. A glyph appeared, they clash, collide, The sword was caught, its strike denied. Six strokes, six spells, six strikes ignored, Each move a myth, each strike a chord. Khensu’s gaze, like a scalding sun, The king’s resolve began to run. Two steps, Khensu’s hand was free, He seized the crown, no more decree. "By arcane law, by star's design, This throne is mine, my will divine. No sun shall set to end my reign— My kingdom forged in mystic flame." The hall erupts in guarded cheer, a roar of strained acclaim, Yet whispers fill the crowded room, to curse his vaunted name. “By ancient right, by arcane law, this throne I now ascend, A kingdom forged in fleeting time, I vow to break and mend. No death shall halt my reign supreme, no other shall create, For I am Khensu, born anew, a ruler free from fate.” The scrolls are spread, the seals are stamped, his edicts swift and vast, The old traditions swept away, the future bound and cast. “No transient ruler shapes this land; its span belongs to me, And through my timeless vision, I shall make eternity.”
