[Verse 1 - band enters softly] The terror of a king is like the roaring of a young lion; anyone who provokes him to anger sins against his own life. Avoiding quarrels brings honor to a man, because every fool can explode in anger. The lazy won't plow because it's cold; So he will beg at harvest and have nothing. The bread of a lie is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel. Plans are made with counsel, and with good advice make war. Don't associate with someone who goes around revealing secrets, a talebearer, or someone who entices with his lips. Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in deepest darkness. If an inheritance is gotten quickly at first it won't be blessed in the end. [Chorus] Don't say, "I will repay evil"; look to YAHWEH, and He will save you. Having one weight and another weight are an abomination to YAHWEH, and a false scale isn't good. A man's steps are from YAHWEH; how then can a man understand his way? [Verse 4:] It is a trap for a man to say rashly, "It is holy," and afterward to reconsider his vows. A wise king scatters the wicked and brings the wheel over them. The breath of a man is the lamp of YAHWEH, searching all the innermost parts of the body. Kindness and truth watch over the king and his throne is strengthened by kindness. [Chorus ] The glory of young men is their strength, and the beauty of old men is the gray head. Bruises and wounds cleanse away evil, so do blows to the innermost parts of the body.
