[Verse 1] Over black glass he stands Red rain on his hands Muspelheim opens wide A furnace for the tide King of the fire giants He breaks the cold in two The mountains learn his name When the sky turns blue to bruise [Pre-Chorus] You cannot cage the flame You cannot hold the weight He comes with ancient breath He comes to seal your fate [Chorus] Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Burn it down Burn it all at last Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Old world falls Then the new world starts [Verse 2] He walks through root and stone Through oath and iron door The fields bend at his feet Like they know him from before Destruction wears a crown Rebirth hides in the spark He takes the ruined bone And leaves a warmer dark [Pre-Chorus] You cannot turn away You cannot name the sea The wild was here before And wild is what will be [Chorus] Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Burn it down Burn it all at last Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Old world falls Then the new world starts [Bridge] When the last pine screams When the river learns to steam Even fear must kneel To the force behind the dream Not man, not throne, not wall Just heat that outlives you A hand across the age And the sky split clean in two [Final Chorus] Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Burn it down Burn it all at last Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash Old world falls Then the new world starts Surtr, crown of ash Surtr, crown of ash From the ruin Something fiercer starts
