Intro: So no body told you life was gonna be this way... (CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP) lalalalalalala (CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP) Verse 1: One day I overheard my parents talking 'bout a show they had recently seen About a girl named Phoebe who played the guitar for her friends, how serene She sang of her cat, who had a smell that was so very very bold I thought that they had meant to get one, just like Phoebe's for them to hold Chorus: Smelly cat, smelly cat, oh, what's that smell Smelly cat, smelly cat, listen to the guitar I'm learning to play so well I will find one just like Phoebe's and bring it home to play Hoping mom and dad will make friends and love it in such a major way Verse 2: I found a black kitty with a white stripe and It's hiding in their room with a stinky mischief in its eyes I am sitting here preparing my guitar solo in the living room with a ta-da, kind of surprise Then Mom and dad walk in and oh, what a sight I can't understand why but they didn't love their smelly cat And they just ran out into the night Chorus: Smelly cat, smelly cat, oh, what's that smell Smelly cat, smelly cat, listen to the guitar I'm learning to play so well I will find one just like Phoebe's and bring it home to play Hoping mom and dad will make friends and love it in such a major way Bridge: Mom and dad are running out with such a frantic pace The smell has got them chased right out of their own place Now I am left here all alone With a kitty on my lap and a guitar in my hand Wondering why they left without me? I was truely hoping it was the gift they had always wanted to see. Chorus: Oh Smelly cat, smelly cat, oh, what's that smell Oh Smelly cat, smelly cat, listen to the guitar I'm learning to play so well I will find one just like Phoebe's and bring it home to play Hoping mom and dad will make friends and love it in such a major way Final Chorus: Oh Smelly cat, smelly cat, oh, what's that smell Oh Smelly cat, smelly cat, listen to the guitar I'm learning to play so well I will find one just like Phoebe's and bring it home to play Hoping mom and dad will make friends and love it in such a major way
