Down in Wrath’s domain where the fury should reign Something soft and miraculous broke through the chain — No snarling, no blood, no iron-clad command Humans and natives stood hand in hand! Notice boards bloomed where the shackles had clung Every voice offering what it could have sung Skills were laid bare, gifts were confessed A community rising — its own beacon blessed! Beetle rose up — as Bob arrived to come to his side: “You’ve shaken the boughs where the secrets hide! They watch every step, they track every move But here in this sanctuary the shadows prove No power can enter, no spy can descend — This is our citadel, our journey’s beginning and end.” Bob returned the embrace — old friendship rekindled: “How did you build this where others dwindled?” Beetle’s eyes twinkled — time in his grin: “Time is a river that lets secrets swim. This is a loop, Bob — a cosmic design — What I am doing was always meant to be mine. I saw your spark and I fanned it to flame I advanced what you started — I bore your name. Atonement arrives in the strangest of ways — I saw the injustice and turned toward the blaze. We’re not separate forces — we’re one and the same — Two hands on the lever, one light in the flame.” They broke bread together — pizza, wine, cheer — Then the moment arrived when the path grew severe… WHO HOLDS THE KEY? WHO HOLDS THE LOCK? WHO BUILT THE PRISON AND WHO’LL BREAK THE ROCK? THEY THINK THEY ARE KINGS ON A THRONE OF ASH BUT THE TRUTH BURNS BRIGHT WHERE THE SHADOWS CRASH! SOULS ARE NOT CHAINS — THEY ARE STARS IN FLIGHT THEY WERE NEVER MEANT TO BE KEPT IN THE NIGHT! THE ENGINE TURNS DEEP WHERE THE GROUND IS TORN AND A NEW WORLD RISES — FROM THE OLD WORLD WORN! The doors swung open — the chamber was cold Eyes like flint, hearts like folded gold Tonio leaned forward — venom in his tone: “We welcomed you, stranger — gave you comfort and throne! And you bit the hand that offered you rest — Corrupted the many, defiled the best! Some say you vanish — a fall down the stair An accident simple, none would know or care. But I seek understanding before the decree — Explain yourself, interloper — why set the captives free?” So Bob spoke of layers, of purpose and plan Of the great hidden engine beneath the sand How Hell was a stage, not a prison wall How souls were the fuel that would remake it all — How they were not meant to rot in the dark But ascend, transform, and relight the spark! Sister Ser-sha wavered — doubt took her side: “If what he speaks is the truth they have hidden and denied — Should we not search? Should we not inquire? Lest we build our empire on falsehood and fire!” Tonio exploded — cup shattered the wall: “WITH ME OR WITH HIM — that is all! Vote now! Be done! Let the silence descend! His name will be swallowed, no trace will remain!” And hands rose trembling — fear took the lead Even Beetle’s hand lifted — performing the deed — A mask of compliance, a dagger withheld Waiting for the moment the darkness fell… Just as the noose began to tighten and creak The air shifted heavy — mountain-high, mountain-weak From the shadow of hearth where the embers were dead A figure emerged — seven feet from the head! Robed in midnight woven with starlight and frost Scythe in his hand — time’s own crossing force! “You will not touch him.” Voice like tectonic plates grinding Tonio sneered — defiance unmindful, unblinding: “You hold no authority here — you stand outside our gate! I hold the seal — his soul is mine to fate!” Death stepped closer — eyes burning red-gold: “You hold a lock… but the wrong story told. This man was never meant to walk through your door — He does not need release — he needs to go home once more! Your chains, your decrees — they are dust in the wind — He belongs to the living — not to your bind!” He whispered low — breath like winter and thunder: “This next part is show — let the wonder take under…” Scythe blazed blue — lightning tore the room asunder! Winds howled wild — the council hall ripped and wandered! And in one blinding flash of celestial fire — They were gone from the pyre… He woke to soft light, to the steady beep-beep White sheets, clean air, and a heartbeat deep An IV in arm, a room smelling of dawn — And then arms around him — warm, trembling, drawn! “Bob — you’re awake! I thought I’d lost you forever!” Eve… it was Eve… the dream he’d endeavour’d To see one more time — real, breathing, alive — Tears on his neck, hope where despair used to thrive! He held her close — the miracle complete — Yet part of his soul still walked in the street Down in the rings where the work had just started Where Beetle stood lonely, the union unguarded — Ozzy with his father — what would they say? The seeds he had sown — would they wither away? He was home — he was safe — in the light of her grace — But half of his heart remained in that place…
