[Intro — rain ambience, birds faintly underneath] Mmm… Hear that? The whole world getting a drink. [Verse 1] Woke up to rain on the window Soft little rhythm on the glass Sky ain’t trying to be sunshine And I ain’t gonna ask Coffee taking its sweet time Bare feet crossing the floor Opened up the curtains smiling Let the gray come through the door [Pre-Chorus] Everybody wants a blue sky But look what the rain can do Everything that looked tired yesterday Woke up wearing something new [Chorus] So let it rain today Let it fall, let it fall Let the garden have it all I don’t need the sun To have a beautiful day Let it rain today I got nowhere I need to run Got a little peace, got a little love And that’s enough Yeah, that’s enough Let it rain today [Verse 2] Puddles making mirrors outside Leaves doing their little dance I might put some music on Give this kitchen floor a chance Something ’bout a rainy morning Makes the small things feel brand new Steam rising from my favorite cup And absolutely nothing to prove [Pre-Chorus] We spend our lives waiting For everything to turn out right But maybe joy ain’t waiting on perfect weather Maybe joy just needs a little light [Chorus] So let it rain today Let it fall, let it fall Let the garden have it all I don’t need the sun To have a beautiful day Let it rain today I got nowhere I need to run Got a little peace, got a little love And that’s enough Yeah, that’s enough Let it rain today [Bridge — stripped back, Rhodes + bass] Rain on the rooftop Tea getting cold Song in the kitchen No place to go Green getting greener Air smelling clean Funny how a gray day Can make everything gleam Mmm… come on, rain… [Final Chorus — harmonies bloom] Let it rain today Let it fall, let it fall Let the thirsty earth have it all I don’t need the sun To have a beautiful day Let it rain today I’ll be right here taking it slow Some days happiness Is simply letting go Let it fall Let it stay I’m already having A beautiful day [Outro — rain + soft vocal] Mmm… Look at that garden. Everybody needed this. Me too.
