[Verse 1] We grew up on the block With dirt on our knees BMX in the drive And a secret in the trees We built forts out back With old boards and twine Felt like we owned the world Before bedtime time [Pre-Chorus] Then Friday came around And we knew the drill A plastic card in hand And a whole night to fill We’d race through the aisles Eyes wide, feet light [Chorus] Be Kind, Rewind That was our time Be Kind, Rewind We knew the line Toys R Us wall Pick what you want Blockbuster lights And a weekend hunt Be Kind, Rewind Yeah, that was our time [Verse 2] Saved up every dime For a game or a toy Grabbed the box off the wall Like it brought us joy Mag wheels on the bike Click-clack down the street Skates on the sidewalk Wind in our teeth No map on a screen No always-on glow Just a front porch lamp And nowhere to go [Pre-Chorus] Then Friday came around And we knew the drill A plastic card in hand And a whole night to fill We’d race through the aisles Eyes wide, feet light [Chorus] Be Kind, Rewind That was our time Be Kind, Rewind We knew the line Toys R Us wall Pick what you want Blockbuster lights And a weekend hunt Be Kind, Rewind Yeah, that was our time [Bridge] If you know, you know That feeling stays A paper bag haul And a hundred ways To lose track of time Before it ran away I’m glad I was there In the 80s and 90s days [Chorus] Be Kind, Rewind That was our time Be Kind, Rewind We knew the line Toys R Us wall Pick what you want Blockbuster lights And a weekend hunt Be Kind, Rewind Yeah, that was our time
