Intro Oh Jerusalem… How long have You called? How long have You reached for us? Verse 1 You saw the city from the hill, You knew the hearts that turned away. Still You called them children, Still You longed to make them stay. Like a mother hen gathers Every frightened little one, You opened up Your shelter, But they would not come. Pre-Chorus Still Your heart was reaching, Still Your mercy cried— “Come beneath My covering, Come and be alive.” Chorus Lord, under Your wings, we find our shelter, Under Your wings, we’re not alone. You have called us through the ages, You have asked us to come home. And when our wandering hearts surrender, When we finally lift our eyes, Blessed is the One who comes in Your name, Blessed is Jesus, the King of life. Verse 2 There were stones along the pathway, There were voices crying no, Yet Christ's love kept reaching For the hearts that would not know. Lord, You could have turned away forever, You could have left us to our own, But mercy stood there waiting, Calling every heart back home. Pre-Chorus Though the house may stand empty, Though the night may fall, Jesus' promise is still waiting For the day we hear His call. Chorus Lord, under Your wings, we find our shelter, Under Your wings, we’re not alone. You have called us through the ages, You have asked us to come home. And when our wandering hearts surrender, When we finally lift our eyes, Blessed is the One who comes in Your name, Blessed is Jesus, the King of life. Bridge Lord, how many times have You called us? How many times have You reached? With a heart full of compassion, You have stood beside the breach. So open wide our hearts, Lord, Let our stubborn spirits cease. Gather us beneath Your mercy, Lead us into peace. Final Chorus Lord, under Your wings, we find our shelter, Under Your wings, we’re not alone. You have called us through the ages, You have asked us to come home. And when our wandering hearts surrender, When we finally lift our eyes, Blessed is the One who comes in Your name, Hosanna to Jesus, the King of life. Outro Lord, under Your wings… Gather us near. Under Your wings… We have nothing to fear. Blessed is He who comes… Blessed is He who comes… In the name of the Lord.
