[Intro — Female] Tonight the curtain rises again On this little play we call love Who fell first? You or me? Tell me, darling… shall we begin? [Verse 1 — Female] Even when the curtain falls you won't let go my hand Tell me, darling is that part of the act? You never say you love me never say you don't Oh, you really are a dangerous man If you're going to lie then lie a little better You know I can see right through you [Pre-Chorus — Male / Female] (Male) Maybe I forgot my lines (Female) Or maybe they were true (Male) Would you believe me if I said— (Female) Darling… I'm watching you [Chorus — Together] Love masquerade, love masquerade Tonight we dance our love masquerade Let it be a lie let it be a dream A heart in love can't hide a thing Love masquerade, love masquerade Even when the curtain falls You and I who will be first To let the mask come falling down? [Verse 2 — Male] Something about you is different tonight You smile as though you know I whispered “good night” then softly said your name And suddenly I had nowhere left to hide [Female] Oh my darling… Was that in the script? [Male] No. That one was mine. [Bridge — Female / Male] (Female) If we're only actors play your part until the end (Male) And if I show you who I really am? (Female) Then I'll wipe away this red from my lips (Male) Come closer. (Female) Maybe I will. [Final Chorus — Together] Love masquerade, love masquerade Tonight we dance our love masquerade Truth and lies entwine so sweetly No more hiding behind the lines Love masquerade, love masquerade Even when the curtain falls (Female) We don't need the script anymore (Male) Turn down the lights (Female) Come closer… (Together) And let the rest belong to us Dance with me.
