Thank you for the support! Happy prompting! v5.5 - Everything in this guide has been tested and still works as of writing! This is the strongest version for ELECTRONIC genres, however the sound quality in other areas seems to have degraded a bit? So far, I've found that creating a song without expecting that generation to be the final version the best path - cover the generation you like with a very, very simple prompt. Personally, I have been testing: [tuning: (sound design, additions, etc. here)] This, after multiple covers, seems to work best for clearing up degraded generations. Still a bit of a credit sink, of course! - This one's gonna be a bit different - I'm going to walk you through my prompting style, showing all of the tags I use most for the sound design I'm looking for. Then I will showcase my extends so you can hear those tags in action! As a bonus, I am going to give a brief description of what each does. <( ̄︶ ̄)> am smart A LOT can go into prompting - tens of thousands over the 7500 character limit that I am allowed here. I won't be able to fit every syntax, symbol and technique I use in this lyric box, so this tutorial will mainly feature my frequently used tags while explaining some basic syntax. Please make use of the Guides playlist for more of my techniques! - || style description / precision prompting || First off, let's explain the style description! There are many ways to prompt on SUNO, with my song a̸アr_ト showcasing the method of going to the 1000 character limit in order to force better audio quality - bonus points if you use terms that influence the sound design, but you could literally just use wingdings if you wanted. (DO NOT just use +++++ to the 1000 character limit. I am trying to save your ears, you have been warned) I use a form of prompting that many of you have probably seen before, mainly in lyric boxes or from a few creators that did so back in v4 (legends), but one that is now quickly gaining traction among the userbase for more recent models. The reason it works so well? Hmm... My guess is that since syntax is more closely followed by the recent models, it allows you to use these "commands" in the style description and actually have them be followed quite closely. (It also looks much more professional than whatever the hell the wand vomits at you 🤣) [bpm: ] : the tempo (more of a suggestion sometimes tbh) [theme: ] : gives the AI a vibe to follow [era: ] : the timeframe in which you want your song like it's from - 2010, 2020, etc. [main genre: ] : the main style(s) of music you want [sub-genre: ] : this genre(s) will affect but not take over the main genre(s) [influence: ] : genres listed here will have their progression and/or sounds appear in the track [tuning: ] : tweaks the overall song in a specific way - ethereal, glitch, etc. [vocal modifiers: ] : describe the voice you want - female, distorted, etc. [instrumentation: ] : put the instruments you want used here - violin, square lead, etc. [track modifiers: ] : put the meta tags you want focused on here - cavernous reverb, dynamic audio, etc. - || syntax key || [ ] : "command" brackets anything you put in them will not be said (allegedly💢) but will instead be incorporated as commands that the AI will attempt to follow ( ) : put any words you want to have special effects in parentheses you can also stack parentheses for more layers, and then stack the words directly after one another to create melodic chaos as showcased here: https://suno.com/song/ca8bd58c-d1ef-41cc-8cf5-3562be28d100 ^ Works even better on v5! > ^ < : "arrows" put these before or after words, in between parentheses or anywhere you want a pitch/melody shift I use these in conjunction with dashes, for example ->-^-< to create a sort of progression in the song - surprisingly, this does get followed (~30% of the time) I have also seen actual arrows be used (which also works) but I'm still a fan of the good ol' syntax I learned with lol - || most used tags || [dynamic audio] : creates a sense of motion via different audio levels, melody frequencies etc. [clean production] : removes background noise and enriches instruments [ambient layering] : creates depth and spaces out instruments [panning] : audio jumping or shifting from side to side [wall of sound] : fills almost every layer with a different instrument and increases volume || situational tags || [multi-layering] : places instruments' audio on top of one another [compress] : pulls the audio ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴄʟᴏsᴇ [decompress] : pushes the audio ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ᶠᵃʳ [increase volume] : increases volume... (?) [decrease volume] : (・_・ ) [muffled] : like the audio is being smothered by a pillow [vocal ambient] : even without vocals prompted, this will add layered voices to the background [vocal glitching] : useful in any genre, place dashes in-between words you want chopped [vox glitch] : a very niche genre that utilizes vocal glitches, it is my all-purpose go-to for electronic [glitch] : another all-purpose genre that I use in electronic, good for sporadic sounds [reverb] : echoes audio [cavernous reverb] : echoes audio even mooooₒₒₒₒₒₒₒₒ [ethereal] : put this before a genre and it'll turn the sound beautiful [dark] : put this before a genre and it'll turn the sound depressing [drop fakeout] : adds a delay, silence or a twist before a drop [reversed] : mirrors the melody/instruments, great for things like glitch or chillstep with vocal risers [liquid] : turns sounds all wibbly wobbly, great for -step type genres [deep] : put this before a genre and it'll turn the sound bassy [industrial] : a genre on its own, but also works as an influencer for dark and mechanical sfx [neuro] : a genre on its own, but also works as an influencer for complex, deep and liquid sfx [(genre here) ambient] : will layer sounds underneath the track - I heavily use vocal/glitch ambient - || extends || This song was made with tens of different personas all utilizing these exact settings: weirdness: 81% style influence: 65% audio strength: 35% * 00:14 \ [dynamic audio] [reverb] \ [interlude] * 00:54 \ [dynamic audio] [panning] [increase volume] [vocal glitching] \ [immediate drop] * 01:20 \ [increase volume] [wall of sound] \ [immediate drop] * 01:35 \ [increase volume] [wall of sound] [vocal glitching] [drop fakeout] \ [drop] * 02:31 \ [dynamic audio] [cavernous reverb] [ethereal] \ [refrain] * 02:41 \ [muffled] [vocal glitching] [dynamic audio] [panning] \ [interlude] * 03:08 \ [compress] [dynamic audio] [panning] \ [refrain] * 03:22 \ [decompress] [vocal glitching] [dynamic audio] \ [build] * 03:49 \ [drop fakeout] [increase volume] [wall of sound] \ [drop] * 04:26 \ [dynamic audio] [increase volume] [wall of sound] \ [immediate drop] * 04:55 \ [ethereal] [vocal glitching] [dynamic audio] [panning] \ [fade to end] [end within 20 seconds] - ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ💙 Happy prompting! 🤍
