My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? I cry by day, but You do not answer, and by night, I find no rest. Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. In You our fathers trusted, and You delivered them. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You far, so far from me? My God, my God, I cry and do not see— yet You are holy. I am a worm and not a man, scorned and despised by the people. All who see me mock me— “He trusts in Yahweh, let Him deliver him!” You brought me from the womb, You have been my God from birth. Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help. Be not far from me. Many bulls surround me, they open wide like a roaring lion. I am poured out like water, my heart melts within me. My strength is dried up, You lay me in the dust of death. They pierce my hands and my feet— they divide my garments among them. But You, O Lord, do not be far off! Come quickly to my aid! Deliver my soul from the sword— save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me... You have rescued me... I will declare Your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise You! You who fear Yahweh, praise Him! For He has not hidden His face, but has heard the afflicted when he cried. From You comes my praise; the afflicted shall eat and be satisfied. Those who seek Him will praise Yahweh— may your hearts live forever! All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh; all the nations will worship before You. For kingship belongs to Yahweh. All who go down to the dust will bow before Him. Future generations will be told of Yahweh— they will proclaim His righteousness: that He has done it. It is accomplished.
