I’m surrounded by people Yet I still live alone Behind the comfort of walls, That never feels like home. I used to think I was sad When I couldn’t see outside myself Not loneliness or depression, Just my lack of wealth. I don’t mean money I definitely don’t want fame It just sucks to disappear From a world that doesn’t remember your name. Sadness follows wisdom When you take that look outside The moment you notice There’s more to life than your pride. I’m told I’m too small That I can’t make a change. Continuously, I’m underrated Am I locked within this cage? Maybe they’re right!? That I worry about what I can’t fix But my heart bleeds for a world Where the pain of others weighs me down like bricks And ohhhhh, I’m drowning In the depths of my heart Waking up to a reality I can’t change With love the world has torn apart When passing by Do the homeless catch your eyes? Do you affirm your selfishness Assuming drugs were their reason why? I bet you follow some book Or one of many religious creeds But how godly are you? To judge someone in their time of need? How much of what you do Is for self gratification? Be honest! Here’s the simplification… We’re all of us animals But we act like we’re divine We place our best at the table, And it ends in a war every time Thousands of years… Still we divide and we fight! Somehow their mental weapon Will always convince us it’s right… It’s not right! Starvation and suffering is unnatural All this senseless dying! With everything we lay to waste, How can they claim to be trying? Our leaders are pure evil Our morality is long lost They keep saying I’m too small, To quit! I ask, what’s the cost? I’m saddened by this A tiny flame in an endless dark Watching others burn out Growing dim without a spark With no hope No future in sight No love for their neighbors Just a selfish world… That isn’t right! And ohhhhh, I’m burning out From the depths of my heart Fading from a reality I can’t change With a fire the world has torn apart I’m surrounded by people Yet I still feel alone Behind the comfort of their walls, The pride they make their homes. And I know they’re sad They can’t see outside themselves, Their greed and their ignorance With their lack of anything else. They don’t need money For when it’s gone, what remains? It just sucks to disappear From a world that won’t remember your name. Sadness follows wisdom If they’d take that look outside They might notice There’s more to life than their pride. I’m not too small I can make a change. I’m here Holding the keys to their cage Maybe they’re wrong! This is a problem I can solve My heart bleeds for a world And beats as it revolves And ohhhhh, I’m falling Under the gravity of my heart Waking up to a reality I can exchange For the one the world has torn apart
