[Intro- Spoken word, on an old tape recorder with wind causing washout from wind blowing across a microphone] (If you're hearing this...) (It means I never made it home...) (This mountain and this mountain is my tomb...) (My body will remain here centuries...) (I have some things t' tell you...) [Verse one- Goals- Spoken world gets very clear, perfect diction, with bass and synth backup grooving] I'm currently trapped at the top of the world I set goals to get here, Just like you set goals to get, where you think you want to go... Some goals are stupid... Some are brilliant... some are worthless or invaluable... some feel really good Some will feel awful... Most of the time you won't know the difference, until it's too late(like for me, right now.) [Verse two- Valuable things] There are things that have value, but they are rarely actually things... People we love, are always valuable... People we hate, teach us to forgive... Defeating the barriers that we give ourselves, they bring discoveries purchased no other way... Things that are valuable are rarely free, and if they are for you, it cost someone else immensely... Cherish them. Things rust, memories fade, experience dies with you Write things down, it's like burying treasure Giving things away, and helping others succeed... Truly sharing what you know, with someone who doesn't... yet... [Verse three- Choices are a terrible thing to waste] Right now, the world is your oyster... Every road lays in front of you, and that won't really mean much to you, until too many roads lay far behind... Don't accept false assumptions... Just because something hasn't been done... Doesn't mean it can't be... but if you find a fence in life, best to find out if it's there to keep you in, Or keep bad things out... It could save your life... Figuring that out too late... No fun at all. [Verse four- Be careful what you worship] Don't assume that worship is optional... It's not. We are wired to worship... If you don't believe in God, and think it's silly That won't change the facts... you will give devotion to something... If it's the earth... Keeping it clean, and sorting your garbage 90% will go to the same place. If it's money... doing everything you can to make a dollar... Famous people or world leaders... buying their products or whipping votes for their campaign... Just realize... It'll happen... There's value in finding truth... and that can be it's own idol... Just Make sure you're making the choice, or it'll make your life a hell all it's own. Choice is our super power... [Bridge- Dying on Everest] Can I be straight with you... Of course I can... It's freaking cold on Mount Everest! I didn't plan on dying up here, or running out of air... My Sherpa said he might be able to get me a tank... But It's gettin' dark... It was amazing! But, honestly, I would rather be home now... And I can't feel anything, I'm so tired... but I want to say... [Verse five-Things we never regret.] There are a few things... in life that you never regret. Making your parents proud Finding the love of your life. Having a family. Being there for each other. Building a life... Knitting yourselves together (miss your mother)... Helping people whenever you can... making them a part of your family... Telling the people you Love... and even people you hate...(and mean it) "I love you."
