[Verse 1] Four hundred winters Ash in my lungs I don't breathe Coal in my sockets Bone fingers burn when they beat Rust on the rafters Names carved in iron and dust I don't ask questions Steel tells the stories it must [Chorus] I am the Smith of Black Death Fire in a kingdom of skulls Bring me your silver, your sins, your last breath I just swing, I just strike, I just pull Living or dead, all the same in my hands Steel in the smoke and the soot I am the Smith of Black Death I make the fate that you choose [Verse 2] Graveyard merchants Bargain in whispers and bone Bandits and bishops Queue by the furnace alone A knight with flowers Blooming from cracks in his shield A child of shadows Needs hooks to carry a soul-filled field They talk of conquest They talk of debts and of doubt I hand them helmets Ask how it fits, then tune them out [Chorus] I am the Smith of Black Death Fire in a kingdom of skulls Bring me your silver, your sins, your last breath I just swing, I just strike, I just pull Living or dead, all the same in my hands Steel in the smoke and the soot I am the Smith of Black Death I make the fate that you choose [Bridge] King of the Skull Servants walks in alone (my liege) Crown like a cracked old ring on bone (still shines) Leaves me a coin from a war long gone Says, "Friend, keep the change, keep forging on" (forging on) I’ve shod his riders Clad his guard in grave-cold mail Armed quiet rebels Gravediggers pale as nails He only nods He knows I don't ask why We share a silence Like sparks that never die [Chorus] I am the Smith of Black Death Fire in a kingdom of skulls Bring me your silver, your sins, your last breath I just swing, I just strike, I just pull Living or dead, all the same in my hands Steel in the smoke and the soot I am the Smith of Black Death I make the fate that you choose [Outro] When embers empty And grave-bells finally fall still They'll find my hammer Wedged in this anvil of will Skull Kingdom sleeping Under a blanket of ash My mark on every blade and breast My laugh in every clash (ha)
