Just the Pulse (July Artist Showcase)

[LYRICS] [Spoken Word Intro] [Male Vocal] The warehouse is sweating from the ceiling down. A single, naked bulb hangs over a spinning reel-to-reel tape deck that’s choking on its own saturation. There is no warmth here, no neon, no comfort. Just a concrete bunker breathing in time with a predatory sub-bass. The crowd doesn't dance; they sway in the dark like teeth in a gearbox. A male voice cuts through the tape hiss like a broken bottle, setting up a drop that intentionally bottoms out into freezing, absolute silence before the industrial weight of the wobble slams back... Into the room. [Intro] (Saturated dubplate surface noise, a thick analog tape hiss, a lone rimshot ticking) [Male MC] Yeah. Track running hot. Watch the tape reel bleed. No soul in the machinery. Just the pulse. Rewind that. Hold it. Listen. [Verse 1] [Female Vocal] Step off the curb into a puddle of grease Another blank face looking out for the peace Terminal platform, smelling of rust Spitting out words that you don't even trust Click of the turnstile, tap of the card Nobody's smiling, everyone's hard Just counting the variables, watching the clock Locked in the cycle, standard block. [Chorus] [Female Vocal] A million moving parts in a broken machine Trying to find the space somewhere in between No light in the corridor, no hope on the floor Just a cold draft slipping right under the door. [Bridge] [Male MC] Inside the bunker! Watch for the drop! Sub-bass creeping and it's not gonna stop! Industrial noise! Machine code tight! We run the dark room into the night! Hold the wheel back! Select the line! (Sudden, high-contrast drop into pure sub-bass silence, music completely cuts out for a beat) ...Now bring it back one time! [Outro] (The massive, LFO-modulated wobble bass growls and warps like a malfunctioning engine) [Female Vocal] No soul... [Male MC] Just the pulse. Just the pulse. Just... the... pulse... [Female Vocal] Static on the wire. Cold grease on the tracks. Once you trigger the system There is no turning back. Watch the display fade. Nothing left to see. Just a rhythmic twitch In the machinery. [End]
