Fans voiced their concerns. Bombarded with letters, producers decided to launch a spin-off show. One of the most mentioned plot-lines that fans desired to see fully developed was a romance between Imp Maid and Friend 2. And thus "Imp Maid: Across The Universe" launched. Show followed the Imp Maid, claiming her well earned vacation from Evil Queen, she used her free time to learn portal magic, launching her adventures. Imp Maid traveled from one world to another in hopes of finding her boyfriend. Each world had a theme and thus genre attached to it: some were straightforward: Western, cyberpunk, fantasy... yet certain took a more extravagant approach: World of Rock'n'Roll -- for musical, Black and White -- detective noir, world of talking cats -- for cats, and even world where a Fish in funny hats populated planet instead of humans. In every world Imp Maid always found a way to get into trouble, but thanks to her quick wits, skills and a trusty inventory (of which Mop -- was her favorite, -- used not only for intended purpose but also as a weapon for combat) she managed to take care of a problem at hand, open another portal and adventures continued. Though director and staff worked on a shoestring budget and a sandwich without cheese, show ran for 24 episodes. Finals saw Imp Maid finally reuniting with Friend 2, while waiting for Friend 1 -- who was absent, yet another portal opens sucking both of them inside. Did Imp Maid and Friend 2 returned to the Castle of Evil Queen? Our World? Was it a set up for S2? What happened to Friend 1? Those and many more questions were left hanging in the air.
