Rolled out early with coffee and a plan GPS smiled like it knew the land Ten miles later parked between a semi and a van Watching brake lights form a perfect little clan Everybody’s got somewhere they need to be I-24 turned us into one big committee One guy’s late for work, one’s late for a date Running late again and the clock won’t wait Stuck again on this stretch of road Time just crawls under a heavy load Learning to be late Construction cones lined up like they own the place Been temporary so long they claimed the space Traffic stacked up farther than the eye can see One more mile feels like eternity Phone keeps buzzing with “you almost here?” I let it ring, no way to answer clear Saw a Tesla drift left then right then left again Like it’s trying to solve a Rubik’s cube with its friends Stuck again on this stretch of road Time just crawls under a heavy load Learning to be late I’ve counted every bumper, every sticker, every dent I’ve named the clouds and given them rent Somewhere a politician’s smiling at a ribbon being cut Selling mandatory H.O.V. like it’ll finally clear the rut Stuck again on this stretch of road Time just crawls under a heavy load …still learning to be late Still here. © 2026 Zax Dezignz Distributed by United Masters All Rights Reserved.
