Momma said, it's not time, But that baby said "I'll be fine." In just ten months, came her second child, Intensive care for two months, but he always just smiled You can call him, Darrell or Joe, Some folks call him, Ole Smokey Joe, But most people call him Budweiser, wherever he goes.. He'll usually buy you a beer and give you a smile. But if you bring up politics….. you're gonna be there awhile. On the Bewt hill, he grew up quick and rough, In a mining town that rewarded, the mean and tough. He grew up a little too fast, always drinking and fighting, In that rowdy mining town, whose bars, were always exciting. You can call him, Darrell or Joe, Some folks call him, Ole Smokey Joe, But most people call him Budweiser, wherever he goes.. He'll usually buy you a beer and give you a smile. But if you bring up politics….. you're gonna be there awhile. He became a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Airforce, Working in intelligence, charting a new course. Served thirteen years, serving his nation, Still fighting and drinking, the whole duration. You can call him, Darrell or Joe, Some folks call him, Ole Smokey Joe, But most people call him Budweiser, wherever he goes.. He'll usually buy you a beer and give you a smile. But if you bring up politics….. you're gonna be there awhile. He's lived longer than he thought he should, And done better than he thought he would. You can still find him at the bar shooting pool, Drinking a Budweiser, just keeping his cool. A better guy is so hard to find, No longer bitter, most days he's kind. But don't let this kindness fool you, He's still that Bewt boy, through and through. He'll usually buy you a beer and give you a smile. So, go ahead and sit down and visit awhile.
