[Verse 1] Morning found the curtains open Last night's glasses by the door Little traces of the laughter Still around us on the floor Sunlight moving through the kitchen Someone humming down the hall Funny how the smallest moments Leave the biggest mark of all [Pre-Chorus] We can't make the evening stay We can't keep the sky from changing But everything it gave to us Doesn't have to fade away [Chorus] Carry the light Carry it with you Into the ordinary days Carry the light Even when the colors Of this moment fade away Every laugh Every touch Every little thing we loved Nothing beautiful is lost If we carry the light [Verse 2] There'll be Mondays in the traffic There'll be rain against the glass There'll be days we barely notice While we're waiting for them to pass Then a song comes through the radio Or the evening turns to gold And suddenly a door inside us Opens to the life we know [Pre-Chorus] We don't have to hold the moment We just have to let it in Somewhere underneath tomorrow It will find its way again [Chorus] Carry the light Carry it with you Into the ordinary days Carry the light Even when the colors Of this moment fade away Every laugh Every touch Every little thing we loved Nothing beautiful is lost If we carry the light [Instrumental] [Bridge] Take the sunrise Take the rain Take the joy And take the change Take the people Take the years Take the love That brought you here You don't need to hold on tight Open your hands And carry the light [Final Chorus] Carry the light Carry it with you Everywhere the road may go Carry the light Let it remind you There's more beauty than we know Every laugh Every touch Every little thing we loved Nothing beautiful is lost Nothing beautiful is gone Carry the light [Outro] Into tomorrow Into the night Carry the light Carry the light
