The Forsaken Scripture

V4.5-ALL

Forgotten Scripture Verse I Each soul did bear the Sacred Leaves, Yet none recalled their sacred purpose. The letters lingered through the years, Whilst truth lay veiled beneath the dust. The pages rested wide apart, Yet every soul remained confined. No eye perceived the hidden light, No tongue could speak the ancient name. Pre-Chorus Thus stillness clothed itself as law, And doubt was named a grievous sin. Chorus O forsaken Scripture, How gently didst thou lead us astray. Hands adorned with righteous zeal Did break all mercy, stone by stone. The realm was torn in silent sorrow, And none beheld its final dawn. Verse II No heart was forged in malice. No soul desired the realm undone. They followed but forgotten words, Whose sacred purpose had long departed. Prayer was fashioned into command. Hope was fastened into chains. Even the firmament surrendered Its final hue unto the night. Bridge Now no lament may cross the silence. The shattered leaves ascend the wind, Nevermore to find their keeper. Their hidden purpose fades to cinders, Scattered through eternal dusk. Final Chorus O forsaken Scripture, Thou wert never writ to judge mankind, Nor bind the soul, Nor wound the meek. Yet all did kneel before thy hollow echo. Now every path is sealed. Only the wandering wind Recalls What we Forgot.
