First Spring Rain

[Verse 1] First spring rain on the kitchen glass Coffee steam and a sleeping cat You laugh Say it smells like last March Like the year found its way back [Chorus] First spring rain Running down this tired town Washing off the weight we never named Breathing in I can finally say it out loud Maybe we were made for days like this First spring rain [Verse 2] Sidewalk chalk bleeding little blue suns Kids in boots kicking through the run-off You take my hand Say “walk too slow” I say “we’ve got time to burn up” [Chorus] First spring rain Running down this tired town Washing off the weight we never named Breathing in I can finally say it out loud Maybe we were made for days like this First spring rain
