[Verse 1] Sittin by his bedside, before my daddy passed. I knew, it wouldnt be long, before he breathed his last. A christian, to the end, lived it best he could. He gave his life to Jesus, and we all knew where he stood. Hadn't heard him speak, for goin on quite awhile. Then his eyes burst open with awe, and I could see him smile. He stared in amazement, toward the foot of the bed. Then he traded in his last few breaths, and this is what he said. [Chorus] I see the angels, stand-in before mee. They've come, to carry me home, upon their wings! They're takin mee, to Jesus! My God and, my Savior! The only one, for whom my heart sings! For so long, I've want-ed, For so long, I've wait-ed, Face to face, to finally see my King! So just take me, to Jesus! [Verse 2] He closed his eyes, and I knew his race was ran. Eternal bliss forever more, in the presence of the Lamb. Who saved my daddy, on the cross, that He was nailed. And paid for his salvation, to bid him pass beyond the veil. I never will forget, when my daddy died that day. With his final words, I'm still amazed I heard him saay! [Chorus] I see the angels, stand-in before mee. They've come, to carry me home upon their wings! They're takin mee, to Jesus! My God and, my Savior! The only one to whom, my heart sings! For so long, I've want-ed, For so long, I've wait-ed, Face to face, to finally see my King! So just take me, to Jesus! [Bridge] I got a race of my own, that I gotta run. And I aint gonna stop, cause its already won. Bringin God glory, and servin His Son. Full of the Spirit while He leads the way. Lookin for the day, when it's my turn to say [Chorus] I see the angels, stand-in before mee, They've come, to carry me home, upon their wings! They're takin me-e, to Jesus! My God and, my Savior! The only one for whom, my heart sings! For so long, I've wanted, For so long, I've waited, Face to face, to finally see my King! So just take me, to Jesus [Outro] So just take me to Jesus So just take me to Jesus So just take me to Jesus So just take me to Jesus Take me to Jesus Take me to Jesus [End song]
