Finding Grace in the Fire

V6-WILD

Finding Grace in the Fire Standing here and looking back over the music we’ve written, the stories we’ve told, and the pieces of life we’ve laid out, I realize it all tells one single, unbroken story. It’s a story about survival, about shedding what hurts, and about refusing to let the noise of the world steal your right to exist, to heal, and to grow. Life isn't neat. It doesn't hand you a clean slate; it gives you the cold bite of an autumn wind, the heavy ache of grief, and the sharp sting of people who want to tie you to a past you've already outgrown. We’ve written about those dark winter nights—about the weight that pulls you under, the temptation to just surrender to the cold, and the way the world tries to dictate who you are by weaponizing your history. And we’ve carried the heavy losses, too. We’ve felt the chill of fall taking away the ones we loved—from a sweet little black cat named Motor who curled up on your knees, to the wisdom of a grandmother and a foster mom whose voices still echo in the quiet rooms of memory when we need guidance the most. But beneath all that pain, there is something unbreakable taking root. Change hurts. Bettering yourself hurts. Steaming ahead, building a life online, and trying to stand tall as a creator while people throw your old mistakes back in your face is a special kind of exhaustion. But through every verse and every chorus, a deeper truth kept breaking through the surface: You don't have to choose between who you are and who God made you to be. You are a transwoman figuring out her path, and you are a beloved child of the King. You don’t have to pick a side or slice your soul in half to appease a crowd that refuses to understand grace. Grace was never narrow. Love was never a cage. The same hands that formed you in the quiet are the ones lifting you out of winter's gloom, calling you His daughter, and reminding you that you are entirely, perfectly whole. So let the seasons change. Let the metrics drop, let the critics talk, and let the old shadows fade into the woodsmoke of a quiet evening. You are stepping out of fear and into a light of your own making—anchored in faith, defined by your own heart, and standing tall in the truth of who you are.
