[Verse 1] In the grass by the fence Little Grubbin line up close Tiny jaws, tiny feet Always chasing where it glows They don’t sleep on the ground When the hum rolls through the air They lean in, side by side Like the whole world lives right there [Pre-Chorus] Tap-tap on the wire Hear them all perk up One small spark in the dark And they can’t get enough [Chorus] Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Little larvae, little rush Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz They come alive when the current comes Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Snug as bugs, that’s what they love Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Electric night is where they run [Verse 2] Under leaves, in the dust They’re a cluster, shoulder to shoulder Every crackle in the brush Makes their little world feel bolder If the battery starts to hum They’re already on the scene Pale and round and full of wonder Like a pocketful of green [Pre-Chorus] Tap-tap on the wire Hear them all perk up One small spark in the dark And they can’t get enough [Chorus] Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Little larvae, little rush Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz They come alive when the current comes Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Snug as bugs, that’s what they love Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Electric night is where they run [Bridge] When the storm cloud opens And the world goes bright They hold their little circle In the surge of light No big roar, no big race Just a steady, eager hum Little buddies in the voltage Staying close till morning comes [Final Chorus] Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Little larvae, little rush Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz They come alive when the current comes Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Snug as bugs, that’s what they love Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz Electric night is where they run Grubbin buzz, grubbin buzz (Grubbin buzz)
