It waits in me. A whisper, A ravish hunger, My secret dare. It tempts. Touches right. It knows my scars better than I. It doesn’t knock. Sneaks in silence, Waits behind my ribs, Moans resistance Breathes when I breathe. As she patiently finds me. Though it does not scream— it taunts. A promise, For in the doubt My comfort’s laced. In poison tightly taut. I say I know. Wear light on my skin. But inside, it stirs. To laugh with men. All while the wager Is my cost of sin. It knows my fears. Carved them well It sings so clear, like old friends, reminds me we’re here. to sink, to forget, to be less. I draw lines in sand, Tides erase them with ease. Like the vow I made Another thread pulled loose. And yet— I cannot kill it. It is part of me, woven deep, two faces on one soul. So I live in the haunting: the weight of shadow against the fragile flame. Some nights I wonder— if I let it win, would the silence be mercy, Or more rules to tame?
