[Verse] Up in the sky where angels fly Living in light that never dies They came down low to earth so bright To share good news on a dark still night [Verse 2] Shepherds on hills guarding sheep Living rough no time to sleep A glorious sight above so wide They saw what others sought to hide [Chorus] Angels in glorious skies afire Shepherds on earth in darkened mire Rulers missed the shining star But humble hearts glimpse from afar [Bridge] High and low all meet that night In the silence love ignites A message clear for hearts made pure Angels point the way so sure [Verse 3] Monarchs with their gold and wine Missed the news of this great time Scribes in books lie buried deep While shepherds rise from dreamless sleep [Chorus] Angels in glorious skies afire Shepherds on earth in darkened mire Rulers missed the shining star But humble hearts glimpse from afar
