Stay cool

I’m sitting on a radiator, feeling like a frozen pea. Waiting for the sun to melt the winter out of me. I’m turning left, I’m turning right, but my shadow’s lost in the neon light. I’m just a kid in a giant’s coat, trying to keep my paper boat afloat. Yesterday was yellow, but today is looking grey. The heat is rising up from the asphalt in a funny way. I’m thinking ‘bout the school yard, the swings and the dust. Before the gears of the world started to gather rust. Now I’m an adult, or so they say, but I still don't know how to play the day. And I wonder how, and I wonder why. The clouds are heavy in a sapphire sky. But I just stay cool, I just stay cool. I’m isolation in a swimming pool. I’m turning my head up and down, turning, turning, turning, turning, turning around, and all that I can see, is just another breezy day. I’ve got a job that feels like a heavy pair of shoes. Walking through the Monday morning, singing Tuesday blues. The stress is like a mosquito buzzing in my ear. Telling me things I don’t really want to hear, but I’ve got a pocket full of nothing and a hat full of rain, to wash away the dusty stains of the train. Step by step, the clock goes "tick". The world is moving just a bit too quick. I’ll find a shade, I’ll find a breeze. And learn to live with a little more ease... And I wonder how, and I wonder why. The clouds are heavy in a sapphire sky. But I just stay cool, I just stay cool. I’m isolation in a swimming pool. I’m turning my head up and down, turning, turning, turning, turning, turning around. And all that I can see, is just another breezy day. Stay cool... just a little bit of stress. Stay cool... I’m a kid in a suit, I must confess. Stay cool...
