Shambala City forgotten forgotten paradise corrupt in shrouded clouds and Shadow's .

[Intro] Behind the cedar gate, the mountain holds its breath A thousand red roofs keep the names the rain forgets [Verse 1] You left a paper lantern on the stair beside the well I found it in the morning where the moss had turned it pale The carved stone lions watched us take the lower road You said, “If we can leave this place, we won’t go alone” [Pre-Chorus] So take my sleeve, don’t lose your nerve The iron latch can still be turned [Chorus] We are the ones they couldn’t keep inside Past the temple wall, past the tide Call our names and we’ll answer together We break the gate; we leave it open forever [Verse 2] The bell tower counted every winter we survived You drew a crooked map and marked the river with a line Your sister kept the key beneath a blue enamel bowl Now every hidden doorway knows the way we’re going home [Pre-Chorus] So take my sleeve, don’t lose your nerve The iron latch can still be turned [Chorus] We are the ones they couldn’t keep inside Past the temple wall, past the tide Call our names and we’ll answer together We break the gate; we leave it open forever [Breakdown] [Gang chants] Open the gate! Open the gate! [Female backing vocals] No one walks alone tonight [Gang chants] Open the gate! Open the gate! [Bridge] If the road runs out, we’ll cross the river stones If the bells ring out, let them ring for everyone You take the map; I’ll carry what we saved We don’t ask permission to be brave [Final Chorus] We are the ones they couldn’t keep inside Past the temple wall, past the tide Call our names and we’ll answer together We break the gate; we leave it open forever [Outro] The cedar gate swings wide And all of us walk through
