It Was Good (Very Good)
Verse 1 Before the dawn had found its flame, Before the stars were named by name, There was God in holy calm, Silence resting in His palm. Waters deep and darkness wide, Mystery on every side— And over chaos, wild and broad, The Spirit hovered—breath of God. Pre-Chorus No sun to rise, no earth to stand, Just boundless deep at His command. Chorus And the Word broke through the night, “Let there be,” and there was light. Life awakened where it stood— And God saw that it was good. Mountains soared and rivers ran, Oceans formed by sovereign hand. He spoke, and all creation stood— And it was good. Oh, it was very good. Verse 2 Sky stretched wide in brilliant blue, Seeds took root and forests grew. Sun to govern day with flame, Silver moon and stars by name. Creatures stirred in sea and air, Wild and wonderful and fair. Every heartbeat, every wing Echoed praise to Heaven’s King. Pre-Chorus Dust was shaped by loving art, Breath of life in human heart. Chorus And the Word breathed life within, Bone and flesh and living skin. Image-bearing flesh and blood— And God saw that it was good. Hand in hand in Eden’s grace, Face to face with Love’s own face. All was whole as it once stood— And it was good. Oh, it was very good. Bridge Light in the darkness, order from deep, Promise awakened where silence would sleep. Spirit still moving, still calling it life, Still breaking the chaos, still speaking the light. Tag / Final Chorus Let there be light in us again, Let there be life where night has been. The same Word speaking as He could— Calling it good. Calling it very good.
