Bricks on my mind
(Intro - Spoken word, conversational, slightly out of breath, acoustic guitar strumming quietly in the background) Hey, so... okay. I really want to sleep. Like, I really want to. I mean, I like it. Sleep is great. BUT... I also like to live a life. A life where I’m actually doing what I love, you know? And sometimes, what I love... it takes all day. It takes the whole damn night, honestly. (Verse 1 - Building a bit of rhythm, erratic but passionate) It’s using my imagination. Just sitting there, staring at the glow, Laying one digital brick at a time. One brick. Another brick. Clack, clack. A time to create a masterpiece. I’m looking for the ultimate stack of perfectly aligned pieces To create the perfect picture! But my eyes are burning, man. And I want SLEEP. I wanna sleep so bad. I wanna dream off the screen, you know? I wanna feel what it’s like to be actually rested. In SLEEP. (Chorus - Sweeping, emotional, voices cracking) But see, I have a life where I build to the stars! And maybe... hey, maybe you could build too? And we could meet up at the MOON! Yeah, we could meet at the moon, and then... And then we could finally go to SLEEP. Sleep. SLEEP. Just sleep. Just you and I. We would be the closest to reach the sky, Just to get some sleep, you and me. (Bridge - Music stops, sudden shift to manic, stressed shouting) BUT IS THERE ANY TIME?! EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY EYES ALL I HAVE ARE THESE BRICKS ON MY MIND! (Screaming slightly) BRICKS ON MY MIND! Glowing pixels, perfect lines, stacking up in the dark! I can't shut it off! Every time I blink, it’s another wall, another floor, another ceiling! ALL I HAVE ARE THESE BRICKS ON MY MIND! (Outro - Sudden drop to absolute silence, just a soft, exhausted whisper) But... Maybe some day... Maybe some day we’ll build something truly great. And our minds will finally rest. They’ll rest and they’ll resonate. And we’ll go... TO SLEEP. SLEEP. SLEEP. (Sound of a keyboard clacking one last time, a heavy sigh) Stream daddy says goodnight.
