(Intro) (Soft piano. Atmospheric pads slowly rise. A gentle breath before the vocal begins.) (Female vocal — soft, intimate) Have mercy on me... O God... According to Your unfailing love... (VERSE 1) Have mercy on me, O God, According to Your unfailing love. Wash me clean from every stain, Blot out the wrongs that I have done. For I know where I have wandered, And my failures stand before me, Yet I come before Your mercy, Lord, forgive and restore me. (Pre-Chorus) You see the places hidden deep inside, The tears I could no longer hide. Still Your mercy calls my name, Still Your love remains the same. (Chorus) Create in me a pure heart, O God, Renew a steadfast spirit within. Don't cast me away from Your presence, Lord, Don't take Your Spirit from me. Restore the joy of salvation, Give me a willing heart again. Create in me a pure heart, O God, And make me whole within. (VERSE 2) You desire truth within me, Even in the deepest place. Cleanse me with Your loving mercy, Cover me with endless grace. Let me hear again Your joy, Lord, Let these broken bones rejoice. Turn Your face from all my failures, Let Your mercy be my voice. (BRIDGE) (Music becomes more intimate. Piano and atmospheric strings.) My sacrifice is not perfection, Not the strength to stand alone. But a broken heart before You, Fully surrendered at Your throne. You will never turn away, You will never despise. You meet me in my weakness, With mercy in Your eyes. (Build) So open my lips, O Lord, And I will sing Your praise. Take this life that You have rescued, Let Your glory fill my days. Let the lost see Your forgiveness, Let the broken know Your grace. May my life become a testimony Of the mercy I have faced. (FINAL CHORUS — Soaring) (Full cinematic production. Powerful female lead. No choir.) Create in me a pure heart, O God, Renew a steadfast spirit within. Don't cast me away from Your presence, Lord, Don't take Your Spirit from me. Restore the joy of salvation, Give me a willing heart again. Create in me a pure heart, O God... And make me whole... Make me whole... Within... (Outro) (Music falls back to piano and soft atmospheric pads.) (Female vocal — soft, emotional) Create in me... A pure heart... O God... And make me whole... Within... (Long instrumental fade.)
