Coffee turning cold again Half a page, lost in my thoughts Streetlight moving on the glass Then your eyes cut through the blur You looked up for just a second Like you almost knew my face Then your mouth curled slightly sideways And the room began to fade I stopped hearing cups and voices Stopped pretending not to stare Every time I looked away You were somehow still right there Maybe it was nothing Maybe I just wanted more But my head kept drawing lines Across a half-open door Ooohoohoo... It held too long inside my head Turning strangers into something else For a moment I could almost touch that life Then the world came back again You checked your phone and smiled softly Not the way you smiled at me Then somebody touched your shoulder Like the place he stood should be I looked down beside my coffee Watched the foam collapse and sink You were laughing while I realized I had raced too far ahead Still my mind kept bending Every detail out of shape Trying hard to leave a space Reality had already closed Ooohoohoo... It held too long inside my head Turning strangers into something else For a moment I believed in something close Now you're already gone It's still repeating in my head Long after the chairs are empty For a moment Everything felt rearranged Then you walked away again Ooohoohoo... Coffee cold Lights still moving on the glass Nothing changed Except the way I left that place
