Dark Side Of The Son

[Style: Slow southern Gospel Piano Ballad] [Tempo: Slow] [Intro] [Soft Piano Intro] [Verse 1] You say you are the Great I AM, The Son of God, Abraham’s Ram But they say you have a second side, A secret you cannot hide That yes, you are good and you are love, but full of wrath, we want none of But that is so very far from true, in the hearts of those who know you……… [Chorus] [Male Lead with Female Backing Harmony] They see a moment in the temple A narrative they say, so plain and simple But they can’t claim that from day one, They have seen the dark side of…..The Son. [repeat]….The Son….. [Interlude] [Piano Arpeggios] [Verse 2] You are love and you are light, and we are precious in your sight You remain the same from age to age, The Lamb who never shows us rage But we have heard in whispered tones, that righteous anger is in your bones Yet you have said we know not of, the heights and depths of our Savior’s love…. [Chorus] [Male Lead with Female Backing Harmony] They see a moment in the temple A narrative they say, so plain and simple But they can’t claim that from day one, They have seen the dark side of…..The Son. [repeat]….The Son….. [Bridge] [Building Intensity] But then one day on Calvary’s hill You show your love, you show your will You do not hurt, you do not kill You only want for us peace…and good will….. [Chorus] [Male Lead with Female Backing Harmony] They see a moment in the temple A narrative they say, so plain and simple But they can’t claim that from day one, They have seen the dark side of…..The Son. [repeat]….The Son….. [Outro] [Slow Fade] [spoken] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [Saxophone Ad-lib] [Soft Piano Chord]
