•One Plant, Two Rules•

V6-WILD

ONE PLANT… TWO RULES… Thursday morning, doorbell rings, special delivery, little green things. Prescription in the system, name on the box, medicine inside, everything locked. One ounce a month, measured and weighed, ordered from the pharmacy, legally paid. No handshake in a car, no alleyway meeting, Royal Mail at the door while the kettle’s still heating. Thursday evening, phone starts buzzing, “Got the stuff?” “Yeah, where you coming?” Park behind the shops, half past eight, hood up, looking through the gate. One ounce a month, same plant, different route, cash in a pocket, keep your eyes looking out. No label, no prescription, no receipt in the hand, just a bag from a bloke who says he’s got the plan. Same plant… Different road… Same smoke… Different code… ONE PLANT TWO RULES ONE GETS DELIVERED ONE GETS MOVED ONE HAS A LABEL ONE HAS A NAME SAME GREEN LEAVES DIFFERENT GAME ONE PLANT TWO RULES I carry my prescription, I know what I’ve got, I’m not hiding from anybody, I’m following the lot. But pull me over and everything changes, depending on the officer, the questions, the exchanges. “Is that cannabis?” “Yes.” “Are you prescribed?” “Yes.” Then comes the pause… The awkward look… The radio… Prescription… Prescription… Prescription… Meanwhile I’m thinking, don’t say too much, because I know what I’m carrying and I know what I’ve got. Same plant, same month, same amount in the bag, but I’ve got no paperwork and no legal prescription. Maybe the officer knows. Maybe they don’t. Maybe they understand exactly where the law stands. Since 2018, things changed… But laws don’t always travel at the same speed as people. ONE PLANT TWO RULES ONE CAN SHOW THE PAPER ONE CAN’T PROVE ONE SAYS MEDICINE ONE SAYS NOTHING SAME GREEN LEAVES BUT THE STORY’S SOMETHING ONE PLANT TWO RULES One officer knows the rules. Another remembers what the rules used to be. One sees a prescription. One sees cannabis. And somewhere between the paperwork, the policy, and the pavement… two people stand holding the same plant. “I bought mine from a pharmacy.” “I bought mine from a man.” “Mine arrived by Royal Mail.” “Mine came in a van.” “I’ve got a prescription.” “I’ve got a worry.” “One ounce.” “One ounce.” “Same plant.” “Different route.” Same month. Same weight. Different legal state. ONE PLANT TWO RULES ONE IS MEDICINE ONE IS PROOF ONE WALKS HOME ONE LOOKS AROUND SAME GREEN LEAVES DIFFERENT GROUND ONE PLANT TWO RULES ONE HAS A LABEL ONE HAS A QUESTION ONE HAS A PRESCRIPTION ONE HAS A WORRY Same plant… Different story… One plant… Two rules… Rules… Rules… Rules..
