[Verse 1] I was worn out in the dust With a hard luck in my hands Tried to carry all my trouble Like I had it all planned Then your old porch light Hit me through the rain And I heard that still small truth Calling out my name [Pre-Chorus] You said lay it down You said come on home You said child, don't fight it You ain't on your own [Chorus] Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden Jesus said, I'll carry that too Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden And I brought my whole life to You (whole life to You) [Verse 2] I know my own kind of broken I know my share of scars But mercy found me early Right there where the sinners are You met me in the valley When I could barely stand Put a new song in my mouth Put my future in Your hands [Pre-Chorus] You said lay it down You said come on home You said child, don't fight it You ain't on your own [Chorus] Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden Jesus said, I'll carry that too Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden And I brought my whole life to You (whole life to You) [Bridge] So if the night gets heavy And the road runs dry I will keep on trusting In the word that never dies No chain can stay on me No storm can take my name 'Cause when my heart was weary You still called me the same [Chorus] Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden Jesus said, I'll carry that too Jesus said, come follow me Jesus said, you can be free Jesus said, bring me your burden And I brought my whole life to You (whole life to You)
