Sub-Zero Truth [VERSE 1] I'm Catholic, and my creed is clean, my Catholic ground is plain You say we worship Mary, say we bow to the Saints But you never opened a catechism, never studied the paint Latria's for God - that's the Greek, that's the term Dulia's for the heroes, lessons we learn Honor thy mother, that's a straight-up command You keep that for your mama but deny where it's planned? For the Mother of God? Nah, that logic won't stand I honor my pastor, my elders, my kin Same word, same root - where's the worship begin? [HOOK] This Catholic gives adoration, sacrifice too Thanksgiving and petition - those I share with you I ask you to pray for me, you don't call that a sin So why when I ask a Saint, you say I let idolatry in? [VERSE 2] Paul said pray for each other, that's Ephesians six Timothy, Romans - the pattern he picks If prayer for the living is right in your eyes Why's prayer through the dead somehow idolize? They're not dead, they're alive - Christ said so Himself "God of the living," not stuck on a shelf Hebrews eleven - a cloud of witnesses near Revelation eight-three - golden bowls, prayers, incense clear The Saints in that vision are handling prayer That ain't my theology - that's your Bible right there [HOOK] This Catholic gives adoration, sacrifice too Thanksgiving and petition - those I share with you I ask you to pray for me, you don't call that a sin So why when I ask a Saint, you say I let idolatry in?
