I WON'T LET GO

VERSE 1 Came out grabbing at a heel, And I never stopped grabbing. Took the birthright for a bowl. Took the blessing in a lie. Wore my brother's clothes And goatskin on my hands. Spent twenty years running From the man I am. PRE-CHORUS Now I'm alone at the Jabbok. I sent everything ahead. And Someone in the darkness Took me down instead. CHORUS I won't let go. I won't let go Till You bless me, Till You name me, Till You break me and remake me. I won't let go. Take my strength. Take my running. Leave me limping. Leave me Yours. I won't let go. VERSE 2 All night in the dust. All night, hold for hold. Then He touched me at the hip, And the strength left my bones. Still I hung on His neck. Couldn't stand. Wouldn't fall. He said, "What is your name?" And I had to say it all. PRE-CHORUS I've been alone at the Jabbok. BRIDGE 1 Jacob. Deceiver. Heel-grabber. Thief. That's the name I've been carrying. That's the man underneath. BRIDGE 2 "No more Jacob," He said. "You have wrestled with God." Israel. Israel. And I walked off with a limp Into the rising sun. I have seen God face to face, And I'm still alive. BRIDGE 3 I won't let go. I won't let go. I won't let go. Bless me. FINAL CHORUS I won't let go. I won't let go Till You bless me, Till You name me, Till You break me and remake me. I won't let go. Take my strength. Take my running. Leave me limping. Leave me Yours. I won't let go.
