Weary Soul -------------- The night descends so soft and still And peace falls heavy on the ground Each petal baus before God's will And dew-soaked petals barely sound A pale ray falls upon the lake And writes a name for sorrow's sake The night receives the weary soul And makes the broken body whole O night, O rest, O holy call O dark that gently holds us all A lonely cry cuts through the deep Where shadows gather, dark as sleep A birch stands tall in frosted white Her branches hang with cold and grief But snow has not arrived tonight Not snow, but light beyond belief. A bird has chirped beside the stream And all the world dissolves to dream O here I shed the world's long cry And learn at last the reason why The night receives the weary soul And makes the broken body whole O night, O rest, O holy call O dark that gently holds us all A higher voice calls soft and low And lights the path that we must go --- "Weary Soul" Copyright © 2026 Rick n' Stolti.
