(Intro) [Intro — whispered layers, suspiciously profound] Come alive… Come alive… Higher… Inside… Inside… Inside… What does that mean? Inside… ⸻ [Verse 1] Mirror sun Open wide Feel the sound Check the tide Moving slow Spinning free Only now Only me Wait… Who am I? Oh, right. Only me. ⸻ [Instrumental Groove] [TB-303 enters. Wah guitar answers. Hammond swells majestically, as though someone has discovered the universe.] ⸻ [Layered Vocal Hook] [Left Channel] Rise… [Centre] Feel it… [Right Channel] Shine… [Left] Rise… [Right] Shine… [Centre] Feel it… [All three] SAY SOMETHING SPECIFIC! [Silence.] [All three, quietly] Higher… Higher… Higher… …probably. ⸻ [Verse 2] Silver rain Golden fire Take me up Lift me higher Lose the weight Lose the name Every road Looks the same Every road Looks the same Including this one We just came. ⸻ [Psychedelic Chant] Around… Around… Around we go… Open… Open… Let it flow… Where are we going? [Whispered answer, heavily reverbed] Nowhere… Around… Around… Around we go… Open… Open… Close the door… I think we've been here before. ⸻ [Extended Instrumental Passage] [TB-303 becomes increasingly confident despite having absolutely no idea where the song is going.] [Hammond organ enters like the gates of heaven have opened.] [Wah guitar performs a seventeen-minute solo explaining nothing.] [Whispered vocals drift across stereo field:] Feel… Feel… Feel… [Pause.] Feel what? [Huge Hammond chord.] [Whisper:] Never mind. ⸻ [Final Hook — increasingly desperate] Feel… The… Sun… Mirror… Mirror… Mirror… Smile… Smile… Smile… Look enlightened! Feel… The… Sun… Mirror… Mirror… Mirror… Smile… Smile… Smile… Someone take a photograph! Higher… Higher… Higher… [All voices overlap] COME ALIVE! COME ALIVE! COME ALIVE! [One final whispered voice:] Did we actually say anything? ⸻ [Instrumental Outro] [No more lyrics.] [The groove continues.] [TB-303 continues its heroic search for meaning.] [Hammond swells.] [Wah guitar wanders off.] [Vocal texture:] Mmmmm… [Analogue tape echo:] …meaning… [Long pause.] …meaning… [Fade into expensive silence.] (Outro)
