Verse 1 I don’t move the same, I don’t think like that, I don’t carry the weight I used to stack, I don’t replay moments tryin’ to run it back, I’ve been pulled out of that—I’m not stuck in the past. Used to wake up feelin’ like I’m still there, like the same old thoughts still in the air, like I couldn’t escape what I used to wear, but now it’s different, I don’t live there. I ain’t tied to the version I used to be, I ain’t chained to the thoughts that were holdin’ me, I ain’t stuck in the cycle controllin’ me, I’ve been set free from that completely. That didn’t come from me tryna fight, that didn’t come from me gettin’ it right, that came when I let God step in my life and change what I couldn’t fix inside. And I feel that shift every time I walk, I don’t speak the same, I don’t think the same thoughts, I don’t carry that guilt that I used to talk to myself with—it’s gone now. I’ve been lifted from places I couldn’t escape, I’ve been shown a love I couldn’t replace, and now I move forward with a different pace, I’m not lookin’ back—I’m not goin’ back. There’s a lightness in me I can’t ignore, like I don’t feel bound to that anymore, like I’m not who I was, I’m restored, and I know exactly what that’s from. I ain’t guessin’, I ain’t confused, I know what changed me, I know what’s true, and I stand in that every move I do, I’m free from what I used to be. Hook I’m free from what was, I don’t live there now, I don’t carry that weight, I don’t bow to that ground, I been lifted, I been changed, I been brought right out, I’m walkin’ in a life I ain’t doubtin’ now. Through God the Father, I stand renewed, through Jesus my Savior, I broke right through, through the Spirit that leads, I don’t lose my view, I’m free from what was—I’m livin’ new. Verse 2 I remember them days it felt permanent, like the pain had a place it was settled in, like no matter what I did, I would circle it, never break free from the hold it had. I tried to outgrow it, I tried to outrun, I tried to ignore it, I tried to become somebody stronger just based on my own, but it didn’t last—I was back again. That’s when I realized I can’t do it alone, I can’t free myself just by will alone, I needed somethin’ deeper than what I’ve known, and that’s when everything changed. Through Jesus Christ, I was pulled from that state, not gradually—no, it broke that chain, not by my effort, not by my gain, but by grace that I didn’t deserve. That hit different when I understood it wasn’t about bein’ strong enough, it was about acceptin’ a greater love that already did the work for me. And now I don’t identify with that place, I don’t see myself through that same old frame, I’ve been given a life with a different name, and I walk in it confidently. Through the Spirit I feel when I start to slip, He reminds me again I’m not built for this, I don’t go back, I don’t live in it, I stay in the truth I’ve been given. And God the Father, You set me free, You broke that hold that was on me, You gave me a life I can finally breathe without feelin’ like I’m trapped again.
