[Verse 1] Alarm hits five I swing my boots on Cold porch air Coffee in a paper cup Back road yawns Before the rooster knows I’m already climbing Into that big box truck [Pre-Chorus] Got a long day waiting A hundred miles to go But I can see my house In the morning glow [Chorus] Five in the morning Five ton rolling Five more hours Then I’m home, home, home I’ll haul it all day Then I’m done, done, done Five in the morning But I’m coming home (coming home) (home, home, home) [Verse 2] Forklift beeps And the loading dock hums Sun climbs up On the hood and the chrome Tailgate down I count every stop One more pallet One more mile to the house [Pre-Chorus] The road gets long But I don’t mind the grind There’s a porch light waiting At the end of the line [Chorus] Five in the morning Five ton rolling Five more hours Then I’m home, home, home I’ll haul it all day Then I’m done, done, done Five in the morning But I’m coming home (coming home) (home, home, home) [Bridge] By the time the sky turns gold I’m one load closer By the time the work runs out I’m rolling over Little hand in my hand Front steps, screened door That’s the payday I’m working for [Chorus] Five in the morning Five ton rolling Five more hours Then I’m home, home, home I’ll haul it all day Then I’m done, done, done Five in the morning But I’m coming home (coming home) (home, home, home)
