Knocking Over The Christmas Tree

[Verse 1] Lights are glowing, winter’s in the air Dave the chipmunk’s dashing everywhere He saw the tinsel, felt the festive spark Then bumped the table in the dark [Pre-Chorus] Oh, the star was shining on the wall But Dave was moving way too small One tiny slip, one little shove And the whole tree started leaning, oh my love [Chorus] Dave the chipmunk, knocking over the Christmas tree Sparkling ornaments flying wild and free Dave the chipmunk, causing holiday mayhem tonight With a crash and a smash, he made the whole room light [Verse 2] Cookies on the counter, presents by the fire Dave was chasing jingles with his heart on fire He raced through ribbons, under every bow Then the Christmas tree went tipping low [Pre-Chorus] Grandma gasped, the children laughed The star spun off and wobbled past Needles in the air like snowfall blue Dave just blinked like, “What’d I do?” [Chorus] Dave the chipmunk, knocking over the Christmas tree Sparkling ornaments flying wild and free Dave the chipmunk, causing holiday mayhem tonight With a crash and a smash, he made the whole room light [Bridge] But when the music started and the laughter grew We pulled it back together, shining new Dave in a sweater, looking so proud Little holiday hero in the Christmas crowd [Final Chorus] Dave the chipmunk, knocking over the Christmas tree Still the cutest little chaos that we ever did see Dave the chipmunk, making merry memories tonight With a crash and a smash, everything felt right [Outro] So if the branches sway and the ornaments gleam Think of Dave and the joy he’d bring Knocking over the Christmas tree That’s one festive memory for me
