08-Nero&Crystal-Wrong About Me

They made a judgment, then called it truth. Never asked the question. Never needed proof. They saw one moment, called it character, Heard one rumor, made it permanent. Took one silence for admission, Turned one failure into evidence. I kept explaining,I kept trying, Thought the truth would change their mind. But some people choose a story Then ignore what doesn't fit inside. I spent years in their courtroom, Fighting charges they invented. Every answer made me smaller. Every defense kept me sentenced. They were wrong about you. You don't have to make them see. You don't need their understanding To become who you're meant to be. Let them keep their old conclusions. Let their version fade away. Truth doesn't need permission From the ones who looked away. I wanted one apology, One sentence saying,"We were wrong." Thought I'd finally feel released If they admitted all along. But waiting gave them power, Kept my future tied behind. Why should people who misjudged me Still decide my peace of mind? You can leave without convincing. You can heal without applause. You don't need a signed confession To know who you really are. They were wrong about you. You don't have to make them see. You don't need their understanding To become who you're meant to be. Let them keep their old conclusions. Let their version fade away. Truth doesn't need permission From the ones who looked away. Some will never change the story. Some will never say your name right. Let them. Their refusal isn't evidence. Their opinion isn't law. Stop returning to the courtroom When you already walked out the door. They were wrong about you. And you still get to move ahead. You are more than every rumor, Every sentence someone said. Let them keep their old conclusions. You don't owe them one more day. Come back to the truth inside you. Choose yourself and walk away. They were wrong about me. Maybe they'll never know. I do. That's enough.
