[Intro] Right then… settle in Let me spin you a little tale No rush, no pressure Just the long road from then till now Nine steps… and a bit of banter along the way [Chorus] From the cave to the code, what a journey it’s been Started with a rock and a hunger so keen Planted a seed, put a wheel on the load Now we’re sittin’ here craftin’ prompts in the code Nine steps, take it slow, let the story unfold [Verse 1] Picture the scene, no streets and no lights Just the cold and the dark and the long hungry nights Man with a spear, eyes sharp in the gloom Chasin’ dinner while the wind howls a tune Then someone gets clever, digs a hole in the dirt Pops in a seed, waits to see what it’s worth Next thing you know there’s a goat and some grain And the belly stays full when it starts to rain Bit of progress that, wouldn’t you say? [Build-up] Then the wheel turns up… proper game changer Cart and an ox, now the heavy stuff’s stranger Trade starts flowin’, people talkin’ more Ideas on the move like never before [Chorus] From the cave to the code, what a journey it’s been Started with a rock and a hunger so keen Planted a seed, put a wheel on the load Now we’re sittin’ here craftin’ prompts in the code Nine steps, take it slow, let the story unfold [Verse 2] Skip a few chapters, coal gets the call Steam starts hissin’, builds factories tall People leave the fields, clock in for the shift World gets louder, progress gets swift Oil joins the party, engines start to sing Cars on the road, and machines take wing Electricity dances straight into the home Suddenly the night ain’t so dark on its own Not bad for a species that started with stone [Build-up] Then the silicon arrives, quiet but bright Little chip full of magic, changin’ the night Ones and zeros learnin’ how to think Future taps your shoulder quicker than a blink [Verse 3] Networks light up, the whole world says hello Information rushin’ like a river in flow Phone in your pocket, globe in your hand Digital weather across every land Then the headsets go on, new worlds appear Type in a prompt and the vision comes clear Robots step quiet, learnin’ the game From smashin’ rocks to prompts… funny how it came [Bridge] You ever sit back and just think on the span? From open fire cracklin’ to code in your hand Same restless spirit, same need to explore Just the tools got fancier, that’s all, nothing more We used to chase dinner across the wide plain Now we chase ideas down a digital lane Still the same species, still makin’ a plan Just the chapter looks different than when it began [Final Chorus] From the cave to the code, what a journey it’s been Started with a rock and a hunger so keen Planted a seed, put a wheel on the load Now we’re sittin’ here craftin’ prompts in the code Nine steps, take it slow, let the story unfold Nine steps… from the cave to the code [Outro] Yeah… Long road Good company Still walkin’ Still wonderin’ Nine steps Nice one.
